LaPine Motorsports is happy to report that Steve is back!! Late in the fall of 2008, Steve teamed up with Robert Head of Mahopac to drive his #61H 1200cc Mini-Sprint with the Empire Lightning Sprints. The new team struggled all year with mechanical problems which kept Steve from competing to his full potential. The team hopes to have worked all the mechanical gremlins out and plans for 2010 include continuing to campaign the 1200cc Mini-Sprint at Whip City Speedway, select ELS shows and work on a 305 Sprint Car deal and travel with the CRSA where Steve had so much success in 2006.

A chance meeting at a Pennsylvania campground late last summer between Steve's dad and Stan Campbell of Hagerstown, MD has blossomed into a great relationship. Stan and his new #63 MES/BLS Land Surveying Sprint Team were at Williams Grove Speedway on September 18th. Steve made the trip from New York to lend his dad a hand in the pits with the fledgling 358 sprint team. After a brief conversation with Steve, Stan offered him the driving duties for the evening in the Ott powered BLS Land Surveying 358 sprinter. Steve still heads to southern Pa when time permits to lend Stan and the MES/BLS team a hand in the pits at Lincoln Speedway.

Steve accepted a new position with Advance Auto Parts and is now Assistant Store Manager at the Carmel, NY store. Steve hopes that his fans and fellow racers will stop in and chat if you're in the area.
